Activated Carbon for Solvent Recovery

CS Corporation offers a broad range of activated carbon products—both coal- and coconut-based in granular and pelletized forms—along with expert advice to optimize solvent recovery across various industries. We also provide comprehensive technical support to ensure effective carbon handling and smooth operation.

Solvent Recovery Techniques

  • Steam Desorption: Employs low-pressure dry steam to release solvents from the carbon bed for quick recovery and reuse.
  • Inert Gas Desorption: Uses heated inert gases, usually nitrogen, to strip solvents that are sensitive to degradation or prone to azeotrope formation (such as THF and CS₂), followed by condensation for solvent collection.
  • Hot Air Regeneration: Suitable for complex solvent mixtures, this method concentrates pollutants during adsorption. Hot air is then passed through the carbon to desorb solvents, with the concentrated off-gas sometimes used to power an oxidizer unit, providing onsite heat or energy.
